Training Camps

Premier League Teams are generally able to conduct a pre-season training camp before the start of the season. The primary exception being the league champion who is too busy on their victory tour, visiting kings and queens and finding inventive ways to use the trophy as was not intended. Training camps allows players to heal up from any nicks and bruises from last season and occasionally helps a player or two improve their skills. Playoff teams have a little less time than non-playoff teams to conduct training camps, so theirs are generally less effective. (This includes coaches who were in the playoffs the prior season, even if they are changing teams). Some teams that have surplus Iron Deathmarks in their account may opt to spend these funds to upgrade their training camp by bringing in a specialist or scheduling an exhibition match. No team may use more than one upgrade for their training camp no matter how many Iron Deathmarks they have; there is only so much time in training camp. A list of available upgrades will be found on the Specialists & Exhibitions page in the Black Market area on the website and also in the Premier League forum. Training camps do require teams and coaches have proper time to prepare and operate. Teams may not hang about the open leagues playing matches AND get a training camp. In summary, the following is the standard procedure and requires no extra funds for a team to receive:

  1. The Champion - No Training Camp
  2. Playoff Participant Coaches/Teams - Short Training Camp may forfeit a game to an overlord account team, thereby resetting their MNGs; may be upgraded with a specialist or exhibition game.
  3. Non Playoff Participants Coaches/Teams- Long Training Camp may receive a forfeited game from an overlord account team, thereby resetting their MNGs, picking up extra gold crowns, 2 random MVPs and 2 random TDs; may be upgraded with a specialist or exhibition game.
  4. *Teams that play no open league games after the start of the Premier playoffs are potentially eligible for a Short or Long Training Camp and may upgrade their training camp.
  5. *Teams that play exactly 1 open league game during the playoff window may only have a short training camp and may not upgrade it. This limitation supersedes any other entitlements the coach/team may have.
  6. *Teams that play more than 1 open league game during the playoff window may not have any training camp. This limitation supersedes any other entitlements the coach/team may have.
  7. Coaches returning from hiatus will be treated as their last full season in the league.
  8. Emergency mid-season replacement teams will generally be granted a short training camp with no upgrades, but the overlords may opt to deny this or reward a team with a long training camp and/or a specialist if deemed important to fair balance.
